Noise is everywhere: TVs, traffic, music, phones, humming fridges, A/Cs and other electronic appliances, people talking, kids playing – the list goes on and on. Do you even notice all the sounds around you? And if you do, do you think of them as pleasant, or are they an utter disturbance?
The presence of unwanted sounds, as noise is defined, has become so ubiquitous that health professionals and policy makers have increasingly become concerned about the health effects of noise.
