Everyone knows what effect exercise can have on one’s health, from lowering cholesterol to alleviating depression. But to visit a doctor and get a prescription to exercise is a whole different thing. Is exercise that effective that we could take it in lieu of popping a pill?
In New Zealand, doctors have been prescribing exercise for over a decade in a scheme that is known as green prescriptions. In some other countries, including the US, UK and Australia, this trend is slowly picking up as well.
